Signs
- Pale or White Gums
- High or low heart rate
- Increased Respiratory Rake
- Weak pulse
- Quite and Lethargic
Actions
- Breath. Stay calm.
- Call your vet and get your dog ready to be transporter Immediately.
- Keep your pet calm.
- Control all evidence of external bleeding with pressure.
- Wrap the pet in a blanket if cold.
Shock occurs when there is a lack or shortage of oxygen in the body’s tissues. This can happen from blood loss or problems with the distribution of blood in the body. Common emergencies that can cause shock are trauma, gdv (bloat) infection, hyperthermia, poison, and severe allergic reaction.
